Samantha Mohr
Mohr was an UGA student who entered her first pageant following being offered by a friend. Mohr was crowned Miss Columbus 1985. She was then eligible participate in The Miss Georgia pageant, which was held in June of 1985. Mohr claimed the crown on June 22 in 1985. More than $3500 was presented to Mohr in scholarship money as well as other prizes. In her role as Miss Georgia included public appearances at spots across Georgia. Mohr represented Georgia at Miss America 1986 in Atlantic City (New Jersey) in September 1985. Mohr stood a chance of 22 to 1 of winning the Miss America title. Computer simulations proved accurate in predicting Susan Akin's triumph. Mohr wasn't a Top-10 finalist in the race for the nation's crown. Mohr was Miss Georgia for a total of ten seasons, and was not crowned until Marlesa Bal, who was her successor to the title, was elected Miss Georgia 1986, on June 28 June, 1986.
